The Good Grief Scrapbooking Challenge

The story of this course starts way back in 2007. That's when Amanda, creator of Good Grief Scrapbooking, lost her dad in a farming accident. Her early grief left her, like so many grieving, just going through the motions - trying to get through the day. She was disconnected from scrapbooking, which had always been a creative outlet for her. We're guessing this might sound familiar.

When she finally came back to scrapbooking, specifically scrapbooking about her dad, she felt a weight lift. She reconnected with her dad. She realized she could use scapbooking as a way to work through things she missed, things she wished could be different, things she wanted to remember.

On the two year anniversary of her dad's death, she (joined by some fabulous contributors) launched the Good Grief Scrapbooking Challenge blog. It was a place where people could follow along with their grief scrapbooking prompts and see the beautiful pages and reflections of the contributors.

Good Grief Scrapbooking + What's Your Grief

In 2013, we here at What's Your Grief discovered the Good Grief Scrapbooking Challenge. Both of us had also lost parents far too young and were mental health professionals who loved creative coping for grief. We'd both used photography and writing as tools for coping with grief.

But neither of us were scrapbookers. Not even a little.

Luckily that wasn't a barrier - the Good Grief Scrapbooking Challenge prompts managed to convert us, almost instantly. We've used the prompts for scrapbooking and art journaling ever since and referred countless people to their challenge archieve.

When we realized the archive was no longer available online, we were so disappointed. But that disappointment quickly got us thinking - we have other creative coping grief courses here - why not see if Amanda was up for allowing us to make her challenge available on What's Your Grief?!

That brings us to today. We're thrilled to now make available the Good Grief Scrapbooking Challenge with some additions from What's Your Grief to supplement. Not only will you find the Good Grief Scrapbooking prompts, but also some of WYG's favorite art journaling prompts along with lessons to help you better understand your grief as you move through the course.
